Massac County VINE Coverage
Illinois runs VINE as a statewide victim notification service through VINELink. The Illinois Attorney General's VINE page explains the scope. The service connects county jail booking systems, the Illinois Department of Corrections, the Department of Human Services, and circuit clerks. Massac still appears in a secondary county directory, and statewide materials show broad participation. Directories go stale. Select Illinois during a live search and confirm that Massac County appears rather than trusting an old list.
VINE has a narrower job than the sheriff's app. It tracks one identified person. Available custody or court status comes with event notices. The sheriff's inmate route instead points to its mobile app for current inmate information. Neither is a complete arrest archive. A person released from jail may drop out of the searchable window, while the arrest report and any filed case stay with their custodians.
The official state VINE overview displays the notification purpose.
It sends alerts, not a guaranteed Massac County arrest record.
Search a Massac County Arrest
Start with enough detail to separate people who share a name. VINELink accepts a name or offender identification number. A live Illinois screen may ask for more. Older Illinois instructions call for a full last name and at least a first initial. Never pick a result just because the name looks close. Compare the shown age, location, agency, and identifier. Check the custody details against facts already known.
- Open VINELink and choose Illinois as the state or custody area.
- Confirm that Massac County is offered, then enter the person’s name or known identification number.
- Review close matches and use identifying details to avoid mixing different people.
- Open the matching record and note status, agency, facility, identifier, and update context.
- If no sound match appears, check the sheriff app and call (618) 524-2912.
The neutral VINELink search screen was captured without selecting a private person.
The live screen is the official entry point. Its current prompts control the search. A missing result can mean several things. Intake data may not have reached VINE yet, or Massac may be unavailable at that moment. The booked spelling can differ from the name typed in. A release, a transfer, or another jail's handling can also hide the event, so absence alone never proves no arrest occurred.
Massac VINE Arrest Results
A result shows only the status VINE was given. It is not the arrest report or booking sheet. Fields vary by agency and event, so treat each one within its limited role.
| Possible field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | The identity attached to the VINE record, subject to careful matching. |
| Custody status | Whether data reports custody, release, transfer, or another available state. |
| Facility or agency | The jail, prison, or reporting body tied to the result. |
| Event information | An available release, transfer, escape, or court-event update. |
| Case detail | Limited clerk-supplied information, not the complete court file. |
VINELink makes no promise of a Massac County booking photo. The sheriff's browser inmate page exposes no photo policy or searchable results. Ask the sheriff directly for a lawful photo. Request it in writing. Ask whether the image is releasable.
Register for Massac Custody Alerts
Registering starts from a matching search result. Options include phone, text, and email. A live screen may offer another method, and state material says phone registration uses a four-digit PIN while email skips the PIN, which should stay private.
- Open the correct person’s details and choose “Get Notified” or its equivalent.
- Select each useful offered method, such as phone, text, or email.
- Enter the contact information and complete the confirmation prompts.
- Create and retain the four-digit PIN when phone registration asks.
- Read the event types and save the confirmation and service number.
The statewide VINE number is 1-866-566-8439. Illinois describes registration as confidential. Notices may cover release, transfer, escape, and selected court events, depending on the source. Treat them as prompts to verify, not as substitutes for agency confirmation or emergency planning, and use the official VINELink registration route to sign up.
The live flow determines which contact methods and event choices are offered.
Verify New Massac Arrest Data
Massac posts no official publication lag. The sheriff's inmate page points to the app but gives no refresh time, search fields, persistence period, or photo rule. A fresh booking can lag behind intake. Check the app first. For a time-sensitive custody question, call the sheriff's non-emergency line.
Documents take a written request to the sheriff under the Massac County FOIA notice, naming the full name, the approximate arrest or booking date, the arresting agency if known, and the exact items sought. The notice lists ckaylor@massacsheriffsdept.com for sheriff records. Ask separately for the arrest report, booking sheet, release or transfer details, and a photo if releasable. No fee schedule is posted. Ask the cost first.
Illinois law requires specified arrest-report information as soon as practical and no later than 72 hours, subject to withholding rules. That clock binds record custodians, not VINE. It compels no instant entry or online image. For the wider split among app custody data, records, and cases, use the Massac County recent arrests hub.
Note: A VINE alert signals a reported event; confirm urgent custody details with the agency that currently holds the person.
VINE Custody Limits in Massac
VINE covers a lot, but not everything. Federal prison custody sits in a different system. Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator for that. Immigration holds are separate too. ICE runs its own detainee locator, and DHS-VINE handles immigration custody as well. When someone moves out of Massac County Jail into one of those systems, the county result stops being useful. The person is still in custody. State custody works differently. Once a person lands in an Illinois Department of Corrections facility, that agency's search takes over. The same goes for parole under IDOC's public rules. It will not show a fresh Massac County arrest, though. For new bookings, the jail roster and the app are the right tools. Judici and the Circuit Clerk follow filed cases instead of the jail's live bed list. Match the tool to the custody. Use VINE or the app for jail. IDOC covers state, and federal tools cover federal. The clerk handles the legal outcome.
